KYIV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned on Monday (Dec 23) that greater than 3,000 North Korean troopers have been killed and wounded in Russia’s Kursk area and warned that Pyongyang might ship extra personnel and gear for Moscow’s military.
“There are dangers of North Korea sending extra troops and navy gear to the Russian military,” Zelenskyy mentioned on X after receiving a report from his high navy commander Oleksandr Syrskyi.
“We could have tangible responses to this,” he added.
The estimate of North Korean losses is increased than that supplied by Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Workers (JCS), which mentioned on Monday at the least 1,100 North Korean troops had been killed or wounded.
The evaluation was in keeping with a briefing final week by South Korea’s spy company, which reported some 100 deaths with one other 1,000 wounded within the area.
Zelenskyy mentioned he cited preliminary information. Reuters couldn’t independently confirm stories on fight losses.
