A gunman apparently tried to assassinate Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Sunday (Sep 15) at Trump’s golf course in Palm Seashore, Florida, authorities mentioned.
CNN, Fox Information and The New York Instances recognized the suspect as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, of Hawaii, citing unidentified legislation enforcement officers. The FBI declined to remark and Reuters couldn’t independently confirm his identification.
Here’s what we all know to date concerning the suspected gunman:
GUN BARREL IN BUSHES
The Secret Service mentioned its brokers have been accompanying Trump on the golf course, when one agent who was securing holes forward of Trump noticed a gun barrel in some bushes close to the property line.
A number of brokers engaged the gunman and fired no less than 4 rounds at him. The gunman then dropped his AK-47 model rifle, two backpacks, a Go Professional digicam and different gadgets and fled in a black Nissan automotive.
Palm Seashore County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw mentioned a witness managed to take a photograph of the suspected gunman’s automotive and licence plate and gave it to authorities.
Shortly after, sheriff’s deputies in neighbouring Martin County stopped the suspect on Interstate 95 and took him into custody.
