The “torpedo bat” that the New York Yankees made well-known over MLB’s opening weekend appears to have a brand new high-profile convert. Cincinnati Reds 23-year-old star Elly De La Cruz tried it out on Monday evening towards the Texas Rangers and had a pleasant evening to say the least. De La Cruz went 4-for-5 with a single, double and two house runs to go along with seven RBI within the 14-3 shellacking of Texas.
Regardless of the success, supervisor Terry Francona echoed what most gamers and managers have stated concerning the bats.
“I believe it’s extra concerning the participant than the bat,” Francona stated, via ESPN.
