To the editor: Sure, as a Native American, I absolutely assist the Inter-Tribal Coalition effort to protect the Grand Staircase-Escalante Nationwide Monument (“Will Native tribes secure Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument?” April 15). Nonetheless, right now, we’re on the downward slope of Navajo Nation President Peterson Zah’s curler coaster metaphor. By the elimination of “Native American” and “Indigenous Folks” from authorities paperwork and web sites, President Trump clearly has little interest in preserving something to do with folks of coloration. Particularly if it hinders his “drill, child, drill” mindset.
