Spring breakers in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, held unlawful boxing matches over the weekend – with cryptocurrency bets.
A bystander who recorded the seaside boxing matches instructed NBC Miami that he noticed college students operating towards a circle of individuals on the seaside and overheard bystanders taking bets with crypto.
“Why aren’t they taking part in soccer? One thing that isn’t going to get folks injured,” Joshua Pettus instructed NBC Miami.
“I began listening to someone taking bets they usually had been doing it with crypto,” Pettus stated.
Pettus stated he started recording after he noticed spring breakers placed on boxing gloves.
“Boxing gloves got here out, the ring bought larger, and I knew the combat was going to start out,” Pettus stated.
Women and men participated within the boxing matches. Women in bikinis placed on boxing gloves and threw punches at one another as the group cheered them on.
Fort Lauderdale Police broke up the fights.
“Fort Lauderdale Police witnessed and broke up two incidents on the seaside and the group complied each occasions with out additional points. There have been no reported confirmed instances of betting. Such a conduct won’t be tolerated,” the town of Fort Lauderdale stated in a press release.
