SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will go to South America for a pair of multilateral conferences from Nov 14 to Nov 20.
Mr Wong will first go to Peru from Nov 14 to Nov 16 to attend the thirty first Asia-Pacific Financial Cooperation (APEC) Financial Leaders’ Assembly (AELM), on the invitation of President Dina Boluarte, the Prime Minister’s Workplace (PMO) mentioned on Wednesday (Nov 13).
He’ll then journey to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the G20 Summit from Nov 17 to Nov 20, on the invitation of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
Peru is the host financial system of APEC this yr, whereas Brazil holds the G20 presidency.
Beneath the theme “Empower, Embody, Develop”, the APEC leaders will focus on methods to advertise commerce and funding for inclusive and interconnected development, and the transition in the direction of the formal and international financial system, amongst different subjects, the PMO mentioned.
