A pilot and a passenger had been arrested after their single-engine aircraft that was carrying a big amount of narcotics made an emergency touchdown on a California freeway on Thursday.
In line with police, the Piper PA-28 aircraft landed round 2:00 a.m. on Freeway 76 close to Oceanside, California.
The pilot instructed authorities that the aircraft’s engine failed, inflicting him to make an emergency touchdown on Freeway 76.
When authorities arrived on the scene, they searched the aircraft and found 2.2 kilos of cocaine.
Gabriel Leon Breit, 21, and Troy Othneil Smith,36, each from Oceanside, California, had been arrested.

Two individuals had been arrested after their single-engine aircraft made an emergency touchdown on a Southern California freeway, and a “giant amount of narcotics” was found aboard, in line with a number of studies citing native police.
The Piper PA-28 plane landed round 1:43 a.m. close to Canyon Drive on Freeway 76, which runs by San Diego’s North County area, the Oceanside Police Division mentioned, per KTLA and KUSI.
The pilot instructed police that the aircraft’s engine was failing, in line with the division, per the California-based TV stations. Neither of the people aboard the plane suffered accidents, police mentioned.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is at the moment investigating the incident.
