Nobel Peace laureate Muhammad Yunus has been sworn in as the pinnacle of Bangladesh’s interim authorities.
Yunus, 84, took oath at a ceremony in Dhaka on Thursday evening after weeks of student-led protests pressured Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to resign and flee to neighbouring India.
The important thing duties for Yunus now are restoring peace in Bangladesh and getting ready for brand new elections.
Bangladesh’s figurehead President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath to Yunus for his function as chief advisor, which is the equal to a primary minister, in presence of overseas diplomats, civil society members, high businessmen and members of the previous opposition get together on the presidential palace in Dhaka.
No representatives of Hasina’s get together have been current.
