Miami quarterback Cam Ward added to his Heisman reel with a ridiculous landing towards Duke on Saturday.
Ward gave Miami (8-0, 4-0 ACC) an early 7-0 lead after finishing a 34-yard landing to huge receiver Xavier Restrepo.
Ward created one thing out of nothing on the play. He evaded the Blue Devils’ go rush by stepping up into the pocket, then retreating and rolling to his proper. He uncorked the soccer simply earlier than being drilled by a Duke defender.
Duke security Terry Brown bought one hand on the ball, deflecting it to Restrepo for the landing.
Ward added a second passing landing later within the first quarter to present the Hurricanes a 14-0 lead.
In September, Ward raced out to the pole position on Heisman leaderboards. He is since been passed by Colorado cornerback/huge receiver Travis Hunter, but the race may tighten if Ward retains making performs like his first landing towards Duke.
Coming into Week 10, Ward was 191-of-281 (68%) passing for an ACC-high 2,746 yards, 24 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He had added 42 carries for 186 yards and three speeding touchdowns.
Per ESPN’s Football Power Index, Miami is the favourite to win the ACC (54.7%) and has an 89.1% probability to achieve the 12-team School Soccer Playoff.
