To the editor: Till now, the Division of Veterans Affairs has prided itself on its nonpartisan mission of taking good care of veterans’ wants, however VA Secretary Doug Collins has circulated a department-wide e mail that requested reporting allegations of anti-Christian bias, together with criticism of these requesting non secular exemptions underneath earlier vaccine mandates (“Veterans Affairs asks employees to report ‘anti-Christian bias’ for investigation by new task force,” April 23).
This alone is opposite to science and doubtlessly makes the navy’s well being and preparedness worse. The memo didn’t solicit suggestions on all non secular bias, solely the dominant group, thus tethering the state to at least one religion in help of 1 viewpoint. This coverage can be farcical on its face have been it not so divisive, unique and harmful.
This exercise seems to be a violation of the first Modification, which prohibits the dominance of 1 faith over all others. It’s not sufficient that the President Trump/Elon Musk combo plans to chop 80,000 jobs from the nonpartisan VA, offering fewer providers to these in want, however now they want to insert an unconstitutional non secular bias as nicely.

To the editor: Christians are nearly two-thirds the American population, but they concern anti-Christian bias? The separation of church and state wasn’t simply established to maintain the federal government out of the church buildings, however to maintain church buildings out of the federal government. That is being eroded by the present administration.

To the editor: I’m not positive why the VA is so alarmed about anti-Christian discrimination. Final I appeared, my neighborhood abounds with lively, thriving Christian church buildings. I’m conscious that the Trump administration is creepily obsessive about all issues LGBTQ+. I do know loads of folks within the queer neighborhood who’re Christians.
