For the second time in 2024, Aric Almirola celebrated along with his household on the frontstretch at Martinsville Speedway.
Almirola led 150 laps — besting his whole from April when he led 148 — in Saturday’s Nationwide Debt Aid 250, successful his third race in 13 begins over the course of the 2024 season. The win is the seventh of Almirola’s Xfinity Sequence profession, and places the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20 into the Championship 4 for the Xfinity Sequence Homeowners Championship.
“We had a very good automotive right here within the spring, and we made a number of modifications as a result of I wasn’t completely pleased with it,” Almirola instructed NBC Sports activities. “We confirmed up yesterday and we have been terrible. They (the No. 20 staff) went to work final night time and got here up with a number of modifications to make to the automotive. It was so attached at present, it was doing all the things I wished it to.”
“That is such a particular place. That is by far my favourite racetrack.”
As Almirola celebrated, Cole Custer and Chandler Smith — who traded paint late within the race — exchanged pleasantries, with Smith initiating a fistfight that was rapidly damaged up.
