To the editor: It’s about time that the overworked, under-appreciated directors of the Los Angeles Unified College District drew a line within the sand and stated, “We’ve had sufficient.” (“LAUSD principals say demands are too high, hours too long. They are joining the Teamsters,” Dec. 19)
Having lately retired from LAUSD after 35 years (17 as an assistant principal and later a principal), I’m continually reminded by my former friends that I’m the fortunate one. The job of principal has changed into a 24/7, year-round place.
The district has drained the enjoyment from their work, so good for them for unionizing.
