WASHINGTON: Two big pandas arrived on the Washington zoo on Tuesday (Oct 14) within the newest chapter in China’s marketing campaign of worldwide “panda diplomacy”.
Bao Li, a male panda, and Qing Bao, a feminine, had been flown from Chengdu to Dulles airport in Virginia aboard a FedEx Boeing 777F cargo airplane dubbed the “Panda Categorical,” the Smithsonian Nationwide Zoo stated.
The three-year-old bears had been then loaded on to vans and brought to their new dwelling on the zoo within the US capital.
“Bao Li and Qing Bao exited their crates and commenced exploring their new indoor enclosures, by which keepers positioned ample bamboo for the bears to eat,” a zoo assertion stated.
It stated they are going to be quarantined for at the least 30 days and won’t go on public show till Jan 24, 2025.
