A member of the Republicans, Michel Barnier is 73 years previous and was the European Fee’s chief negotiator in talks with Britain over its departure from the European Union.
However Macron’s appointment of a right-wing politician has infuriated these on the left.
They are saying their leftist alliance received most votes within the snap elections they usually deserve a PM who displays that outcome.
