To the editor: Actually, I assist Dist. Atty. Nathan Hochman’s resolution to convey again the dying penalty, and I feel it is smart for sure circumstances (“D.A. Hochman officially brings death penalty back to Los Angeles,” March 25). Some crimes are simply so heartless and inhumane that life in jail doesn’t look like sufficient of a punishment. I don’t assume that it must be used flippantly, however having it as an choice sends a message that there are, in actual fact, actual penalties for the worst sort of crimes. I don’t assume that it’s about revenge, it’s extra so about justice. And generally justice requires being agency.
