Re: “WA’s Newhouse calls for ‘decency’ after rebuking Dem who shouted at Trump” (March 6, Native Politics):
It was particularly disappointing to study that Washington Rep. Dan Newhouse was the congressman who launched the Home decision to censure Rep. Al Inexperienced, the Texas Democrat, for his deportment throughout President Donald Trump’s speech to Congress on March 4.
That was the identical Rep. Newhouse who was simply one among 10 Republicans who voted to question Trump 4 years in the past, and one among solely two who survived the next reelection cycle. I perceive that Rep. Inexperienced arguably violated the Home code of conduct, however does Rep. Newhouse perceive we at the moment are in a unique day and age of American politics?
The president talked for over an hour and a half and uttered his normal fare of lies, plus some, so what would have been extra acceptable conduct? Perhaps simply strolling out, however that may not have despatched a lot of a message. In the meantime, Rep. Newhouse’s censure decision makes it seem he has capitulated to the person whom he as soon as impeached.
Republican vs. Democratic politics apart, nothing has modified in or concerning the man Rep. Newhouse voted to question.
