To the editor: Can anybody clarify how a seemingly clever particular person corresponding to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass may have such remarkably poor judgment? (“After critics blast move to pay L.A. wildfire recovery czar $500,000, he’ll do it for free,” Feb. 8)
Steve Soboroff, appointed to steer town of L.A.’s restoration effort after final month’s fires, seems to be a profitable businessman. But Bass accepted his wage of practically half 1,000,000 {dollars}, to be funded solely by charitable organizations, for 3 months’ work. Did it not happen to her that the charitable donations for that wage ought to go towards aiding all these of us who’ve misplaced each single factor of their lives?
Finally, Bass reversed course and mentioned Soboroff would work free of charge. However I’m undecided what was worse — Bass at first approving the wage, or Soboroff accepting it.
Speak about a race to the underside!
